You are unsure whether you will get it.
They make you fill in so many columns you are not sure whether yours will stand out from others.
You are not sure if you are heading in the right direction.
You are asking yourself, "Does my CV look good enough for them? Will it impress them?"
They ask you absurd questions about why you picked to apply to them, which you know won't matter in the end because it comes down to whether they like you or not.
They make you feel as if they are the very best and it is as if you need them.
They make you feel not worthy to apply for their scholarship.
You do not know if spending that 1-2 hours on the application will bear any fruit at all.
You skip classes just to go for interviews.
You waste precious time applying when it could be spent building relationships with friends.
Sometimes you feel just like...
Writing funny things on your application.
Making the interviewer laugh when he/she reads your applications.
Bullshitting on your application.
Be amazed at how much "beautiful" language you can write in a sentence.
Be in awe at your writing skills.
Be proud of selling yourself expensive.
Giving up on the application and continuing on with life.
"Should life not be easier than filling in tonnes of application forms and going through dozens of interiewing stages just to get a job you might not get?" - Quoted by Joshua Ng, 16th July 2009
Something for Australian companies to think about.
